The 75-hour Master of Divinity2 is perhaps the most innovative degree of its kind, built around local church ministry in action. Unique to this curriculum is its interlocking and interrelated content. Bible, theology, and church history are integrated throughout every praxis course. This interweaving of foundational principles provides the knowledge, skills, and dispositions that pastors need and can immediately use in ministry.
Those who have already completed a ministry-related master's degree may be eligible to complete the Master of Divinity in just 48 credits.
The Doctor of Ministry (DMIN)3 program at Wesley Seminary allows you to build the program that best fits your area of interest and ministry context. This program, which is designed to allow you to earn a doctorate while continuing your current ministry, is built to provide a balance of biblical studies, church history, theology, the development of the spiritual life, and ministry practice.
The Associate of Science with a major in Christian Ministries degree program is offered in an online format and may also be offered onsite at locations in Indiana and Kentucky. This program, which meets academic and practicum requirements for licensing and/or ordination in many denominations, provides a foundational basis for students hoping to continue their education at IWU.
The Bachelor of Science with a major in Biblical Studies degree program focuses on studying Scripture carefully and theologically, employing the inductive Bible study approach. Students will delve into the background, genre, contents, and theological themes of most books and blocks of the Bible. Attention will also be given to cultural and philosophical dynamics, both in the interpretation and application of Scripture.
The Master of Divinity at Wesley Seminary is contextualized to respond to the needs of the Hispanic and Ibero-American Church. Wesley Seminary's Master of Divinity curriculum is unique in its intertwined and interrelated content. The Bible, theology, and church history are integrated throughout each praxis course. This way of interpreting the fundamental principles provides the knowledge, skills, and dispositions that pastors will immediately use in ministry.
The Master of Theological Studies (MTS) program engages students in rigorous study of the subdisciplines of theology: Biblical studies, church history, systematic theology, ethics, practical theology, and spiritual formation. The purpose is to give focus to the full scope of Christian theology so that students will have breadth and depth in theological study preparing them for further graduate studies and teaching ministries.
